How to make a Blueberry Granita

 Blueberry Granita

Ingredients

2 ½ cups blueberries

½ cup white sugar

¾ cup water

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Process the blueberries and sugar in a food processor until they are smooth. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing the puree with a wooden spoon to remove any skin or seed fragments.

Step 2

In a small glass baking dish or tray, combine the strained blueberry puree, water, and lemon juice. After placing the dish in the freezer, stir and scrape the blueberry mixture once per hour for about 4 hours, or until it is completely frozen and frosty. To serve, spoon into chilled glasses after scraping ice crystals to fluff and lighten them.
